Collaborative Divorce Lawyers

Collaborative divorce lawyers are lawyers who understand the dynamics that families experience when they face a transition in their relationship or family. Their goal is to support you with legal information and advice, and work with you, your spouse and the other professionals in the Process to find a resolution that meets the needs of you and your spouse. The Collaborative divorce lawyers will model respectful communication, guide you through gathering information, exploring options, and finding a combination of those options that work best for you and your family. The professionals work as a team, preparing together in advance of the Team meetings with clients, to make sure that the Team meetings with clients are as successful as they can be. Rather than approaching discussions from a position, or advocating for their client in an adversarial way, the lawyers share information and discuss the options openly and transparently, together with the clients. In this way, the agreements reached are thorough, well-reasoned, and durable.

Originally from a small rural town in Eastern Ontario, Alexis attended Carleton University in Ottawa where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 2018. She remained in nation’s capital and attended the University of Ottawa for law school.

Always seeking out hands-on experiences throughout law school, Alexis was a family law caseworker for the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic, offering pro-bono legal services to the public, and she placed first in the provincial Arnup Cup Trial Advocacy Moot.

She obtained her Juris Doctor (JD) degree in 2021 and completed her articles in Ottawa. She was called to the Ontario bar in June 2022 and later called to the British Columbia bar in July 2022.

The beauty of the Okanagan valley brought Alexis to Kelowna. She joined FH&P Lawyers as an Associate and is currently building a practice in family law, real estate, and wills and estate.

When not in the office, you can find Alexis hiking or biking on one of the many trails in the area, enjoying a tasting at one of the many local wineries, or undertaking a new art project.
